Ecosystem Restoration

Ecosystem restoration requires scaling findings of basic research into operational level implementation. Because restoration is a long-term process, many of the studies require long-term assessment. A practical but quantifiable approach to “learning by doing” is called adaptive management. In this setting, research objectives are very applied and coordinated closely with land managers. Jones Center staff have partnered with government agencies or private landowners in developing problem-solving approaches to the challenges of restoration.
